Oh What a Week!
What a week! 7 days ago we set a new record for a "normal" night (there's a contradiction in terms!) at EMPIRE, the teens and twentysomethings gathering of Kings. 282 young people stood under the stars to worship, pray and celebrate the truth of Easter.
Alana opened up some of her life story and the principles she's learned – and really impacted our young people. Several said Yes to Jesus and others made public decisions to draw a line in the sand regarding some of their choices.
The polics turned up because of noise complaints – must have been because of the flock of birds flying overhead and screeching, coz it wasn't from our unplugged, acoustic worship set! Anyway the police told us we're doing a great job with young people and keep doing what we're doing! It was a special, memorable night in the life of Empire.
Then we had a record Sunday in Kings for Easter Sunday with our exceptional Easter Musical. Over 2000 people attended church over the weekend and many said Yes to Jesus!
This week saw church leaders and teams from 40 churches across australia join us for the S4 Leadership Summit. This was a powerful and inspiring week. The input from the preachers was superb and the chance to connect with great leaders was timely.
Here is just a quick thought from Ps Paul de Jong in the Q and A session:
"Normally when we begin to hear God speak about something we hear sounds that we don't understand. Then Understanding becomes Revelation and Revelation becomes Conviction."
Our responsibility is to keep hearing sounds from Heaven and to commit to decipering them. It may not all make sense at first but just keep asking for revelation to come from it
I love that idea that we start to hear a sound before we truly comprehend its purpose or intent. I feel like I'm hearing the buzz of the voice of God in several areas – now I'm asking for some understanding and revelation to go with it!
